Binkley Jr. Real Estate

Probably the oldest real estate office in Berks County, Binkley Real Estate was started back in the 1930’s by A. G. Binkley, Sr. A graduate of Wharton School of Business, Mr. Binkley Sr. had several businesses over the years. He ran a boating business, was a buyer and seller of rare coins and stamps, and had other interests as well, but his mainstay was always real estate. Back then, there were only a handful of offices operating in the Reading area. Real estate contracts were written on one side of a legal sized piece of paper, and the contract didn’t even take up the whole page! In 1960, A. G. Binkley, Jr. started in real estate and was already a real estate broker by 1964. The early- and mid-1970’s were very good to the Binkley office, and we grew to be one of the larger offices in Berks County with two locations. As a listing tool, Mr. Binkley, Jr. would often tell sellers, “If you want a referral about our company, ask your home – we’ve probably sold it before!” It was A. G. Binkley, Jr. who decided to make a niche for the office by expanding to property management in addition to sales. The Binkley office quickly became the undisputed authority in rental property management in Berks County and still is today, handling more properties than any other real estate brokerage in the county.
