For me, being a real estate agent wasn’t just a career choice, it is embedded in my DNA. Growing up, my father was one of the top Realtors in Kansas City, and as a small child, I remember going with him to hold open houses. After raising a houseful of kids, my mom also became a licensed Realtor. Out of my seven brothers and sisters, two of my siblings and I continued the family tradition and became Realtors. As you can see, real estate runs in our blood. I have been a full-time Realtor, licensed in both Kansas and Missouri, since 1999. After my brother Jim became licensed and bought Brookside Real Estate, it only made sense for me to join him. Some think that sibling rivalry would make it hard to work with my brother but we have a great friendship and respect for each other. Having grown up here, I truly love Kansas City, especially being able to watch the city as it transitions through each of the four seasons. Being a local, gives me an edge at researching and getting to know other neighborhoods in both Missouri and Kansas. This advantage has proven very beneficial to my clients. Beyond my career at Brookside Real Estate, I really enjoy traveling with my husband, Denzyl, to his home country of South Africa. We try to visit there every other year to spend Christmas with his family. For our future adventures, I look forward to traveling around the US with him…in an Air Stream camper!
