Joe Polaneczky

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, the youngest of nine children, and many of my clients say they see the influence of me being the youngest (sense of humor) and one of nine kids (work ethic and always wanting to be a standout in all I do). I came to Athens via Northern California where I was a landscape designer, wine broker, and then a high school English teacher. People love to hear my stories of landscaping for Jerry Garcia, of the Grateful Dead, and then teaching his daughter in high school many years later (yes, it’s true…even went to his house for Christmas in ’92…or was it ’93?). I am now so very proud to call Athens my home since 2003. Prior to ‘03 Athens had been my second home since 1991. My wife, Rachel, grew up here, and after many visits, even Northern CA couldn’t keep us away! If you are about to be a newcomer to the area, you’ll see why we love it.
